TAFT ART PROGRAM GRADES K - 4
Taft Foundation supports Art! Explore the wonder and beauty of the animal kingdom, and discover nature in a way that inspires empathy, curiosity and creativity. Learn about many different animals and how wildlife conservationists are working to protect species around the globe. Experiment with a variety of art techniques and use Crayola art materials to create projects like frog paintings, ink diffusion jellyfish, and coiled turtles.
TAFT BUILDING, GROUNDS & RENOVATION
Taft school was originally build in 1909 and continues to need many repairs, renovations and upgrades. To date the Foundation has contributed toward the auditorium renovation, new flooring, and more! In 2024, we were able to partner with Taft PTA to contribute toward a new playground for our students to enjoy!
BRAGI'S PLAYERS THEATER PROGRAM
Bragi's players is a youth theater program open to children K-8 in the Lockport community. To date they have done three performances- Grease, Seussical and Lion King! The foundation supports Bragi's by providing financial assistance for purchasing scripts, music, set design, costumes, and equipment. Learn more about Bragi's players!
TAFT PARENTS ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
Taft Foundation continues to house the Taft Parents Athletic Association under our umbrella, which provides students in 3rd-6th grade the opportunity to play basketball before they reach junior high. In January 2022, we supported the 75th annual Taft Tournament, which brought over 100 Taft alumni from 1980-2021 to play in the tournament together!
STEM EDUCATION
Taft Foundation provides the financial support to fund STEM programs for our young engineers! Enroll your student in our STEM program, taught by Tina Governale, our school's science specialist!
The Skydome inflatable Planetarium was a big hit with students, offering an exciting tour of the solar system that left everyone amazed!
TEACHER MINI GRANTS
Taft Foundation provides Taft SD 90 teachers of the school an opportunity to write a mini grant to request items for their classroom including supplies, materials, special projects, equipment for special needs students, etc.
